As I was looking at jewelry online-I believe I was on goldsea.com when this occurred to me-I started to see that my taste in jewelry seems to have a sense for the seasons. I realized that while I was looking at gold jewelry, I thought of the brilliance of spring and fall. When I thought of silver, it brought up images of summer and winter. I hadn't actually been aware of this, but in looking back, I see that I do have a tendency to reach for silver and gold more frequently according to the times of year I mentioned. I then got up to have a look at my jewelry and thought some more about the seasons. I realized that I also go more for bigger pieces in winter and summer and more delicate pieces in spring and fall. Of course, there's nothing strict about this tendency, and it's just personal preference, but I thought it was interesting to contemplate!

Though riots spread to Birmingham,s jewellery retailers there were not much affected by the onslaught. This was reported by the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter who took preventive measures.
To prevent further damage by rioters who were inspired by their counterparts in London, the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter shut their premises to protect their goods as well as employees and office from damage.
The high level of vigilance and protective measures taken by jewellery retailers in the quarter, helped curtail the damage caused by rioters. This was enabled by a great degree of coordination between the Jewellery Quarter Regeneration partnership, The British Jewellery Association and The British police.

It is time to take out the long since forgotten jewelry box kept in the drawer. And the skyrocketing prices of gold are the reason behind the same, now with the rate of 24-carat gold (not used in jewelry) crossing $1,700 and fast going higher.
Vice-president of House of Kahn Estate Jewelers, a firm buying and selling estate jewelry, Mr Tobina Kahn, informed that they have had about a 30% spike in people enquiring about selling off their jewelry.
But there is some confusion about pricing, with people thinking their 14-karat jewelry is worth $1,700 an ounce, while it is not so. Kahn added that it is much wiser to sell intact pieces of jewelry if they bear the mark of the designer since the pieces then, would not sell only as gold but as works of art and hence demand greater prices.
