Tips On Cleaning Silverware

Polished and sparkling silverware lends an air of sophistication to one's dinner table. Cleaning silverware is not a difficult process at all. One can even use mere household items. The best polish while cleaning silverware, especially small pieces such as cutlery is white toothpaste. Rubbing the toothpaste onto the tarnish brings out a lovely sparkle to ones silver. Cleaning silverware with baking powder is another easy method that is great for bigger pieces of silverware. One needs to make a paste out of baking soda and water. The next step is to scoop the paste out with a soft sponge and rub it onto the silverware. For cleaning silverware that is badly tarnished, one may leave the baking soda paste on the silver for an hour or so, and then proceed to clean it with a cloth and hot water.
